Ballet dancers in random situations

This incredible photography series by Jordan Matter illustrates the unbelievable talent of ballet dancers. Set in random situations, the elegance of the dancers contrasts starkly with their mundane background.
It’s an amazing tribute to the skill and grace of this beautiful and elegant art form.

High-Speed Photography,. 14 great captions

Blink or you'll miss great,.. speed photography 14 great captions

Scrambled Eggs

Terence T.S. Tam's collection of high-speed photography is complete with this brilliant shot of an egg being shot by an airsoft gun.

#2 Blue

Believe it or not, that is a balloon popping and not a huge splash of paint. Photographed by the talented Thomas Hawk, this is one of the many high-speed shots of balloon popping in his collection!

#3 Aces

When you slow it down, it makes you wonder how anyone can be accurate enough to shoot through something as small as a card, much less rip it in half!

Everybody breaks a glass from time to time, but it's never quite looked so cool.

#5 Paint Drink

Pouring paint out of a glass has never looked so fun.

#6 Kiwi

We're not sure if it's water or Sprite that the kiwi is being dropped into but either way, it's making us thirsty!

#7 Change

Bhumi Joshi has an eye for fast motion photography. So much so, that this is his second photo on this list.

#8 Pop

We love how balloons look when popped in high-speed photography. It's almost like viewing a really great painting.

#9 Bubbles

Bubbles are fun to play with. They're clear and colorful at the same time. They are truly amazing, but we just like to pop them!

#10 Lights Out

This is a lightbulb being shot by an airsoft gun. This is probably just before it shattered into a million tiny pieces.

#11 Water Balloon

This water balloon was hung on a clothespin and shot, once by an airsoft gun and once by a talented photographer. The water balloon was white and it was actually the water that was dyed blue.

#12 Fortune

Everyone loves a good fortune cookie but we're not sure if it's good or bad luck to shoot a bullet through it. That would probably depend on whether or not you're eating it at the time.

#13 Cup o'Joe

Whether you like your coffee with cream or not, this looks absolutely delicious. Shot by photographer David Kittos.

We all remember seeing those great movies and magic shows where the star shoots an apple off of their assistant's head. Now we can see the devastation before the apple explodes.

#15 Punch

That's definitely not the way to make a punch drink but it looks so great, we'll let it slide. This fantastic photo was taken by Bhumi Joshi.
